Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, Friends!

As Christmas draws near, we wanted to slip into your inbox with something simple and heartfelt—a note of gratitude from our hearts to yours.

This year has brought so much life and change here at Sweet Bombdiggity Farms. We welcomed new babies and fresh beginnings that brought us so much joy and reminded us how miraculous life truly is.

We also said goodbye to some we loved deeply—Dessie, JP, and Dolly—and those losses reminded us how deeply we feel, how closely we’re connected, and how much love lives in this community.

At the heart of Country Living Connoisseur—and everything we share—has always been more than just a farm. It’s about flourishing and designing a life you love with intention. It’s the lessons the animals teach us about care and presence. It’s the garden, reminding us that good things take time. It’s the kitchen, where nourishment and gathering matter. It’s choosing slower, more meaningful rhythms whenever we can, wherever we live.

Through every season this year, one thing has been constant: you. This growing circle of friends—old and new—who show up with encouragement, kindness, curiosity, and heart. We are deeply grateful to be on this journey with you, sharing stories, lessons learned, laughter, and the quiet moments in between.

As we head into Christmas, we’re looking forward to time with our family, slowing down just a bit, and holding close the true meaning of this season—the reason we celebrate at all:

“For today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” — Luke 2:11

That good news still matters. It still brings hope. And it still meets us right where we are.

From our farm to your home, we wish you a Christmas filled with peace, love, warmth, and the simple joy of being together. Thank you for being part of this beautiful community that we never take for granted.

With grateful hearts,

Pull Up a Chair There is something deeply satisfying about choosing the right thing on purpose. Not the prettiest seed packet. Not the one that looked most impressive on the shelf. The one that actually fits your space, your soil, your life. That's what we've been up to in the garden lately. Cucumbers that stay compact instead of taking over everything in a five-foot radius. Carrots are tucked into rows by dropping them into corn starch, so you can actually see where you are planting them!...

Ripening tomatoes on the vine in a garden

Pull Up a Chair Lane and I got our tomatoes in the ground a couple of weeks early this year. Right around Mother’s Day is the “safe” date here in East Tennessee — but we took our chances. The semester is winding down at the university, the rescue animals need their daily love and care, the grass is growing faster than we can keep up with, the weeds have opinions about that too, and gardening season is here in full force. It is a lot all at once. And we wouldn’t trade it. But here’s what’s...

Pull Up a Chair I walked into the greenhouse the other morning, and the tulips had opened. The pink ones all at once, like they couldn’t wait any longer. And now these ruffly, peachy ones are coming on—just stunning. They’re showing off a little… and honestly, they’re about the only thing that is right now. Everything else is still in progress. Trays of seedlings are just getting started. Beds I’ve been filling and working through. A lot of time is spent on things that don’t look like much...
