Pull Up a Chair

Hey friend,

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to design a life you love and I keep coming back to this: it isn’t built in one big, sweeping moment. It’s built in the small, quiet choices we make every day.

The little things — making tea, curating a corner that makes you smile, cooking a fresh meal — might seem simple, but over time, they add up. They bring clarity about what matters most… and sometimes, they make room for the bigger decisions and changes we’ve been circling around.

This newsletter is where I share those little things-- the recipes, tools, and rituals shaping life here at Sweet BombDiggity Farms -- and, hopefully, spark ideas for your own.

This week, I’ve tucked in a new tool for creating more intention in your days, a healthy southern twist on one of my favorite summer recipes, a peek into what’s happening in the garden, and a few small finds that are making me smile.

Pour yourself something good, settle in, and let’s dig in together.

With love,
Jules

Designing a Life You Love

"Three Intentions" Practice

I’ve been using this little tool lately, and it’s been a quiet game-changer: each morning, I set three intentions. Not a to-do list — a heart list.

Something I want to feel.
Something I want to notice.
Something I want to create.

Some mornings mine look like this:
Feel: grateful. Notice: the way the light hits across the horse field. Create: something fun in the kitchen.

The little things — like choosing three simple guideposts for the day — create clarity, and that clarity builds momentum. It’s amazing how these small, intentional moments shape the bigger story of our lives.

From the Farm Kitchen

Healthy Southern Street Corn

Sweet summer corn is having its moment, and y’all… this one’s a keeper. Inspired by classic Mexican street corn but with a lighter, southern twist — it’s fresh, smoky, tangy, and full of flavor. Perfect for cookouts, weeknight dinners, or standing barefoot in the kitchen eating it straight out of the bowl!

Your Late Summer Garden Magic List

This is that sweet in-between season — when summer’s still showing off, but fall is waiting in the wings. Designing a life you love means preparing for and savoring every season, and the little things you do in the garden now can set you up for blooms, beauty, and abundance well into fall.

Here are a few quick wins I’m leaning into this week:
Plant Now for September Blooms → Zinnias, cosmos, and marigolds still thrive in the heat — tuck in a quick round now for late color.
Deadhead + Refresh → Snip back spent blooms and tidy beds to give tired plants new energy.
Harvest Herbs While They Shine → Basil, lemon balm, and mint are thriving — pick them fresh for teas, salads, and drying.

And that’s just the start — I’ve pulled together my full Late-Summer Garden Magic List with 10 simple, beautiful tips to make the most of these in-between days.

The Curated Corner

This little corner of my kitchen makes me ridiculously happy. That minty jadeite green on my grandmother’s worn utensils? Perfection. Each handle carries its own story. And that sweet Kwik-Bake pie oven? It’s now my spice cabinet. I love to pick up old jars, tins, and copper treasures that make me smile every time I pass by.

That’s the thing about curating small spaces — they don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. A thrifted jar, a vintage find, a piece passed down through family… when you gather what you love into one little corner, it transforms the whole space.

Start where you are. A windowsill, a shelf, a tabletop. Fill it with pieces that make you pause, breathe, and smile. That’s the heart of designing a life you love — creating beauty and meaning in the everyday. I'd love to see your Curated Corners, too!

Favorite Finds

From must-have tools and products to vintage treasures and talented makers that I think are the bombdiggity—this little section is full of fun. Just a few things I’m loving lately… and I’d love to hear what you’re loving too!

Farm & Life Fashion

These Noble Loom socks are a total BombDiggity win for me recently! American-made, soft, and durable. The best part of me is that they stay up and don’t slouch. From tennis shoe socks to boot socks, there’s a style for everyone. I wore the spotted cow ones today and couldn’t stop smiling.

Chicken & Garden

These Roo Gardening Aprons are awesome and make it so easy to go from garden to coop and back again. They’re perfect for harvesting veggies, collecting eggs, or even carrying tools. I love how sturdy, lightweight, and easy to clean they are. And if you don’t have chickens, you can grab one of the gardening-only styles. I’ve been using mine nonstop.

Worn Stories & a Peek at What’s Ahead

These vintage books instantly took me back — the worn edges, soft pages, and timeless covers feel like holding little pieces of history in your hands.

And starting in September, we’re kicking off something new: our first Friday Finds vintage drop. Four times a year, we’ll be sharing handpicked pieces like these, and every dollar goes straight to caring for the rescue animals here at the farm.

This first drop is extra special — I can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been saving.

Tuck it in your pocket

“The little things are rarely little. They create clarity… and sometimes, they make room for the bigger changes you’ve been dreaming about.”

Your life doesn’t have to shift overnight to be beautiful. A five-minute ritual. A curated corner. A fresh recipe you can share with people you love.

Those are the threads we weave — slowly, intentionally, together — as we build a life we truly love.

Here’s to simple joys and big dreams,

Pull Up a Chair London mornings feel different. The light moves across old book spines, painted ceilings, walls of yarn, and rows of pigments that look like they belong on an artist’s palette. Bread is stacked proudly behind glass. Umbrellas drift overhead. Mosaic tiles tell their stories piece by piece. Even the markets feel thoughtfully arranged. This city doesn’t whisper its creativity. It shows it. We’ve been here teaching a course to UT Knoxville honors students focused on Human Centered...

Pull Up a Chair Next week, we head to London. Rock and Sole Plaice Fish & Chips (London, UK - Established 1871) It’s something we do each year, yet it always feels both familiar and new. There’s the excitement — a city rich with history, long walks, good meals, and conversations that linger. And then there’s the weight of leaving. Our farm. Our animals. Our routines. Our heart. And the people who fill it — our kids, grandbabies, friends, and the everyday closeness that makes stepping away...

Pull Up a Chair Right now at Sweet Bombdiggity Farms, it doesn’t look like much is happening. The beds are mostly bare. The greenhouse feels still. If you didn’t know better, you might think we’re in a pause. But this is one of my favorite parts of the year. This is when the real work is tucked out of sight. Seed packets are opened. Rows are measured. Notes are scribbled in the margins of old notebooks. We’re walking the beds, deciding what goes where, and quietly setting the stage for...
